HYDE PARK RECORDS LEAGUE GROUND RULES SITE: CBS Sportsline. Some of us have experience on the site. It provides good stats & pretty accurate live scoring, among other things, for a fee, of course… TEAMS: Hopefully 10 - 12 (Anything over 8 is good) You come up with your team name & logo. Player Pool: Mixed (AL – NL) KEEPERS!! Yeah!!! Positions: C – 1B – 2B – 3B – SS – CI (3B or 1B) – MI (2B or SS) – LF – CF – RF – U (any postion incl. DH). Notice that Outfielders are seperated out into specific positions! Oooooooh….. 5 Starting pitchers & 6 Relievers. Total of 22 (11 hitters, 11 pitchers! Symmetry!) Each team will carry players from this year’s team to next year’s team based on dollar values from the previous season (see Excel attachment of 2005 values for reference), including ALL minor leaguers! All teams will have a $150 payroll for keepers. Eligibility: Player must have 20 games played last year or 10 games played this year to be eligible at a position. I.E. Nomar WON’T be eligible at 1B this year until he plays 10 games there this year, but he will be eligible at SS & 3B… Get it? Roster Limits: 22 active players (as stated above); 8 reserve spots; 1 DL spot; 4 minor league spots! (discuss later…) Illegal rosters will get ZERO points for that day. Transactions: Trades are FREE & subject to approval by the commish (ME). There are unlimited add/drops & a waiver wire for recently released players. Trade deadline is the same as in the majors, but since this is a keeper league, you can trade after the season! Yeah! Min / Max: Every batting position is assigned no more than 162 games; meaning if you sub in SS every day, you may hit your 162-game limit on September 1st & you won’t get any more stats from that position for the rest of the year. Make sense? Also, there is a 135 game minimum on Catchers, so don’t totally neglect this horrible position…. There is a 150-game minimum on total starts from your starting pitchers, too. That’s 30 starts per starter, so beware! League Entry Fee: $65: $50 for the league; $15 for the site usage… Payouts: 1st Place = $200 (for 10 team league) 2nd Place = $135 3rd Place = $90 4th Place = $65 5th Place = $35 6th Place = Set of Steak Knives 7th Place = YOU’RE FIRED. Scoring System: Rotisserie-style, meaning points for leading in catagories (I.E. 10 points for 1st in Home Runs, 9 points for 2nd, etc.). “+” indicates greater number is better. Hitting Catagories Pitching Catagories Batting Average (+) Walks Issued (-) Walks (+) Blown Saves (-) Fielding Errors (-) ERA (-) Fielding Percentage (+) Holds (+) Hits (+) Batting Average Against (-) Home Runs (+) Strikeouts (+) Strikeouts (-) Losses (-) On-Base Percentage (+) Quality Starts (+) Runs (+) Saves (+) Runs Batted In (+) Home Runs Allowed (-) Stolen Bases – Caught Stealing (+) Wins (+) Slugging Percentage (+) WHIP (-) Draft: Your first 5 players will be auctioned off with $150 as payroll, so if you want someone bad enough, you can get him. After each team has 5 players, a standard sanke draft will occur, with the team spending the least amount of money getting their choice of draft position for the first 2 rounds. We’ll draw cards after that. I know this a lot to mull over, but it should be a blast. Also, I need names, addresses, phone numbers, etc. from everyone who wants to be in. The sooner I know we have enough people, the sooner I can pay CBS Sportsline & get you guys on the site! Almost all of these rules are negotiable, so if you have any suggestions or changes, PLEASE LET ME KNOW. Thanks for reading this & I hope you all play! Boomer.
