07.02.08 We think we have this NEW Dreamweaver thing figured out, so here's a belated update on the goings ahn 'round here. First off, Derek stopped by to demand that Walter Vaughn (seated at record player) give him back his Michael Henderson Best of CD. Derek also dropped off a brilliant Ret-Art painting of Oscar Gamble! Thanks, man. In sadder news, our trusted compadre Andrew Brearley is off to the great state of Arizona to live & presumably work. Best of luck, Ace. You will be missed... especially by people like this. Also, we had to take down our sign down since we didn't want to get a permit for it from the city. No big loss. Here's another picture of Andrew for you:

04.28.08 Just so's you don't have to ask when you come in: yes, we buy records; yes, we have the dusties; yes, we have the new Chaka Khan CD; and, finally, yes, we have DVDs, and they're just to left of where you're currently looking. Thank you.

Oh, and, Holy Cow, do we have some great jazz records up on ebay right now!!!

04.09.08 It's Boomer's birthday today & to celebrate, we're going to sell everything in the store for $34!

04.04.08 See how good we are? This is the second update in less than a week. Wow. And now, despite our obvious philosophical opposition to supporting a Bill Berry-less R.E.M., we are carrying the new cd of theirs. We also hear that it's good, but we here that about Arthur Prysock and Anita Baker everyday too, so we believe nothing. Walter has a girlfriend now, and we blame the button for his sudden fame. Well, the button in tendem with his seductive glances, of course.

And now, a song:
Bobby O'Jay - I Love My J-O-B

03.30.08 Ok. So we got a new-fangled computer and stuff & we didn't have software and stuff, so we bought the software and stuff & now we're gonna post stuff again. Now, look at the Walter button that everyone here hates for some reason.

8.25.07 These are the girls that remember when Boomer needed to wear deodorant & didn't and then subsequently wore too much Brut to cover for it later... They stopped in, bought a bunch of kid's DVD's, lifted their skirts for the neighbothood folks, & left causing quite a stir... I'm sure all of you have already heard about Dr. Wax closing down the street here. That sucks & all, but what really gets our goats is that the Reader runs a story on it & stupid Tribune runs a story on vinyl stores AND NEITHER ONE EVEN MENTIONS US... UPDATE!: Due to the threat of mutiny, I finally updated the "EMPLOYEES" page.

7.17.07 Behold. The Symphony. Not much going ahn around these parts, so we were rappin' nostalgic about what MTV meant to us as youngsters ('82 - '92), from Yo! MTV Raps to Headbanger's Ball to 120 Minutes... Man, those were the days.

7.04.07 HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA! Here in Hyde Park, "The Powers That Be" decide to throw a parade right down 53rd street, causing us to LOSE MONEY!!! Well, in the spirit of community goodwill, we here at the store gave out free tickets to the Midwest League All-Star game a little while back & took some photos to document the journey west through 2 hours of traffic to Geneva, Illinois. Check it out. Oh, if you click on the photo above, you'll find out about what you're REALLY celebrating today. Beasts.

6.06.07 That's Maniac buying "Maniac". The French & The Dutch are battling it out for digging supremacy today, so I better get to work here. Just thought we'd tell you that there are some 45's up on the Ebays courtesy of us, so bid 'em up, as we need to pay for the burial of a bird.... UPDATE: The Dutch win by a mile. Go to this shop in Amsterdam.

5.23.07 Everybody's sellin' & no one is buyin'! Stop doing that! Not only to we have to deal with at least 20 people a day thinking that this record is worth $1,000,000, we also have to stand at the counter & listen to guys complain about how record labels owe them money & KanYe isn't any good & Twista has done me wrong & BLAHBLAHBLAH.... Now, if everybody brought in LP's like this, we would be happy. Instead, it's this. Ugh.

5.9.07 Cappadonna was here. You know, from the Wu-Tang Clan? Right, him. Well, he pulled up in this car on Monday morning, played some Asteroids, & posed for photos. Nice dude. Taller than I thought he would be. If you want to but his new CD, you can here. Just saying... We got some new rock LP's that we couldn't sell in the store up on Ebay for you to BUY NOW! Boomer was digging through some pictures the other day & found these photos of him with the Dimemberment Plan from February 2002 in Salt Lake City at Kilby's Court. The Plan re-formed to play a benefit show in DC (reviewed here by our own Lil' Dave!) on behalf of Callum Robbins. I need to cheer up now.. And I know exactly how to do it!

5.02.07

We've been playing the first Rage Against The Machine CD pretty much non-stop since September, so it's good to know that a socialist NBA player is on the same wavelength. Oh, don't worry about all of that "Decision 2008" stuff; here's your winner, found in an Eddie Harris LP! "This guy tried telling us that "Five Leaves Left" WASN'T the best Nick Drake record, so we beat him up & took his Cubs hat. Since we hate the Cubs here, the first person to e-mail us the name of the jerk who wrote this song gets the hat sent to them for FREE! (It's size 8 fitted, FYI)..... Two questions to end on: Do we peel the sticker off? & Does anyone want these Sun Ra 7"s we just bought?

If you need to, stone cold check out the archives. Go ahead. Nobody's stopping you.
